Michaela Cromar, CPA

Senior Tax Manager

As senior tax manager at Sanford, Baumeister & Frazier LLP, Michaela Cromar manages income tax engagements for businesses and individual clients.  Integral to the success of SB&F’s not-for-profit industry niche, she brings extensive knowledge from her seventeen years of experience in tax consulting.

Ms. Cromar was the Sproles Woodard supervisor focusing on nonprofit organizations, trusts, and high net worth family groups. As a member of their management team, she oversaw client relationships and reported to the board of directors, committees, officers and owners, trustees, and external advisors.

Formerly, Ms. Cromar was also an accountant at J.A. Garrison and Co., P.C. in Fort Worth.

A frequent guest speaker in the nonprofit field, Ms. Cromar has presented to the Brite Divinity School Board of Trustees and the Funding Information Center, among others. In addition, she was selected as a faculty member for the University of Texas Law School 28th Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute in January, 2011.

Michaela is currently treasurer of the Board of Directors of Courage and Renewal North Texas.  A trustee of Brite Divinity School, she’s the organization’s audit committee chair, and a member of the Brite Student Affairs Committee.  Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA), and the Fort Worth Chapter of the TSCPA. Previous community and professional service includes treasurer and finance committee member at Colleyville First United Methodist Church; treasurer and 2003 class representative of the Air Force Academy Parents’ Club; Fort Worth TSCPA chair of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Tax Hotline; and membership in the “One Brick” section of Fort Worth Leaders’ Fund. In addition, Ms. Cromar is a graduate of the Leadership Colleyville and Leadership Fort Worth programs.  Still involved with Leadership Fort Worth, she recently served as treasurer and currently serves as a board member and member of the finance committee.

Ms. Cromar earned her bachelor of arts degree with honours from Queen’s University at Kingston in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and her masters of professional accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.
