Partner Susan S. Roberts enhances SB&F’s corporate leadership through her extensive knowledge and experience providing customized solutions for manufacturing enterprises and professional athletes. With a unique ability to assess important aspects of external and internal financial reporting needs—and to gauge their impact on efficiencies and productivity—Susan’s agile interaction and absolute attention to detail are invaluable.
She has a remarkable depth of understanding of each industry and 18 years in public accounting, providing a particular penchant for strategic consulting on corporate taxation, entity selection, and multi-state taxation issues. Serving CFO’s in mid-size manufacturing companies, her talents range from asset valuation to working capital cost accounting. She works in multiple areas of income tax planning and advises companies regarding mergers and acquisitions, as well. By providing tax planning and consulting to professional athletes, she has an extensive knowledge with regards to high net worth individuals, filing in multiple states.
An avid writer and lecturer, Ms. Roberts is recognized nationwide as an organizer and provider of professional continuing education seminars discussing important tax law changes for CPAs. She co-authors articles, guidance books and online support columns for accountants, CPAs, and other financial professionals. She has also developed an interactive financial planning website for professionals and clients.
Ms. Roberts enjoys active participation in the Fort Worth Chapter of Texas Society of CPAs and was recently named President of the organization. Over the years she has been as a member of the board of directors and officer, and formerly served as president-elect, programs vice president, treasurer, secretary, and has volunteered for a number of committees.
The Fort Worth Chapter honored Susan for her “Meritorious Service to the Chapter” in 2011, and she was also named “Young CPA of the Year” in 2007.
Susan also serves on the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce’s Women Influencing Business committee. Such dedication further illustrates Ms. Roberts’ leadership role in the Fort Worth community.
Additionally, the CPA Technology Advisor named Susan Roberts one of the “Top 40 Under 40 CPA’s in the Nation,” a designation honoring professionals who will help lead the finance and accounting industry into the future. Moreover, she was named by the Fort Worth Business Press as one of the top, local “40 Under 40” young leaders in the area.
Susan Roberts earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Baylor University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990. She completed her Master of Taxation degree the following year. She is fluent in Spanish.
